NOTE: These guidelines will evolve and adjust to meet health and safety guidelines recommended by the CDC, California and County-specific health departments, and endurance industry standards.

In response to the global pandemic, New Global Adventures has developed a company-wide COVID-19 safety policy for our races. Safety is paramount, and we will only host our races if we believe they can take place with a reasonable level of safety for everyone involved.

The following guidelines are put in place for your safety and the safety of everyone at the event. We ask that all participants, spectators, pacers, race crew, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and guests follow these guidelines.

Please take a few moments to review and prepare for your race. Be smart, use common sense, and consider the safety of everyone around you. Together with your cooperation and support will help us bring races back and make an awesome safe race experience for everyone.

On April 29th the California Department of Public Health issued the following COVID-19 GUIDANCE: Community Sporting Events, effective May 1, 2021. The safety guidelines we have already prepared are in line with this guidance.

If you think you have been exposed to a known COVID-19 case within 2-weeks of race day, tested positive, or exhibit symptoms, including cough, fever, headaches, fatigue, or trouble breathing, then you may NOT participate in the event. If you feel there is any chance that you are at risk then please do not come to the race, check with your doctor, and quarantine.

You will not lose your entry if you can not make the race due to COVID-19 exposure or testing positive, simply contact us to inform us that you are not able to make the race, and would like to change your entry to virtual or defer to next years race.

While not required, we strongly recommend being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 2-weeks prior to the race.

Why? Even if you consider yourself to be low risk for infection, you may find yourself in a high-risk situation, such as an unanticipated visit, meeting, or contact with someone who has been less diligent than you at avoiding transmission risk.

It is your responsibility to get tested. Most testing is free, fast, and easy, getting you results in 1-2 days. Visit this page for no-cost testing options. Schedule your test the week of the race so your results are within 72-hours of the race day. Be aware that receiving results can vary, check with your testing facility to ensure you will receive your results in time for the race check-in.

This also applies to spectators, pacers, crew, family, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and partners that plan to attend the race in support of runners.

While the risk of COVID-19 transmission in outdoor settings is very low. We still need to be safe and proceed with caution. Masks and face coverings are recommended at these points:

Plan on carrying masks or face coverings with you at all times and be prepared to put them as noted above and as needed to be safe.

When arriving at the race staging area to check-in please come prepared and follow the safety guidelines of staying distanced, wearing a mask, and following volunteer instructions. Have the following items prepared:

For the start of the race, all participants are required to wear a mask and socially distance by 6-feet. We will set up a spread-out corral to allow distancing. Depending on total participants we may break out the larger categories into their own start times. This will be determined in the final week before the race.

Once on the course and spread out by at least 6-feet, then you can remove your mask. Plan on putting your mask back on when coming into and stopping at the aid-station or finish line.

To minimize the risk of contamination we will reduce open containers of food, snacks, and goodies and focus on pre-packaged food or place items in individual serving cups or bags.

We recommend all participants carry a runner’s water bottle or a hydration pack through the race. When you need to refill, please open your bottle or pack to have it ready to be refilled with minimal to no contact required.

To help minimize contact points and risks, we encourage you to be as self-sufficient as possible. Carry water via a runner’s water bottle or hydration pack, plus fuel such as gels, chomps, or bars to get you through the race.

In addition to your regular runner’s checklist, prepare the following items:

We sincerely thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and support to follow these guidelines. Things are changing almost weekly as the state, counties, and cities begin to fully open up. This is all new territory to help get us out of this pandemic. If you have questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us. Working together we can have an awesome and safe race experience for everyone.

Come Be The Light with Us!
SAFETY NOTE: These guidelines will evolve and adjust to meet health and safety guidelines recommended by the CDC, California and County-specific health departments, and endurance industry standards.
